• Personalized guidance:

  • I have over 10 years of experience in choreographing a wide variety of dance styes and age groups.

  • I’ll provide individualized feedback to help you to polish and improve your dance skills.

  • You can ask me questions, seek clarification, and receive immediate answers.

  • I love encouraging my students and celebrating their achievements when they get the routine down confidently!

• Tailored choreography:

  • I design routines specifically for your dance level and style so that you can be present in other ways and focus on other aspects of the special day/event you will be performing at.

• Structured learning:

  • I will break down complex moves into manageable, easy to remember steps.

    • Online videos can often times lack this systematic breakdown, making it less efficient to learn a routine in a short period of time

• Motivation and Accountability:

  • I try my best to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment!

  • Regular sessions with me will keep you motivated and organized for your performance so that you’re not feeling pressured to cram it all last minute.

I teach Bollywood, Semi-Classical, Garba/Raas, Devotional, and Ballroom-Style dancing (first dance)

I can fluently speak in English and Gujarati in class, and I am able to understand Hindi

The turn around time for my dance choreography can vary based on several factors therefore I suggest you reach out at least 3 months prior to your event date to have sufficient time to become confident with your personalized routine:

• Music Selection:

  • choosing the right music is crucial. If you already have your songs in mind it can speed up the process. Otherwise, selecting music can take some time

  • I would be happy to share a list of suggested songs to help you along in this process.

  • Once a song is selected, I will create dance mix for you.

• Complexity of the dance:

  • Simple routines may take a few hours to a day

  • More elaborate or intricate performances may require up to a week

• Payment:

  • Once payment is received, you will gain access to your dance mix and private dance choreography video.

• Practice:

  • Your dance choreography video will be a YouTube video with instructional notes.

    • The benefit of a YouTube video is that you can slow the video down to learn more efficiently at home.

    • We can work together to schedule opportunities to meet in person to learn the dance step by step once you have seen and approved my dance choreographyfor your event. I am happy to make adjustments as needed.

Payment:

Payment must be received via Venmo or Zelle prior to obtaining access to dance mix and dance choreography videos.

Refund Policy:

I’m happy to offer a full refund on a case by case basis. If a student decides to drop a group dance performance, they will receive a partial refund and a new dance formation will be adjusted as soon as possible prior to your event date.

I teach from my basement in Vernon Hills, IL! Join me in my home studio :)

• Opt for a comfortable top with loose-fitting pants or leggings so that you don’t feel restricted while learning your dance steps.

• While not mandatory, traditional soft/loose-fitting Indian attire such as kurtis are always welcome (I will likely be wearing this as well). We can match!

I find so much joy in teaching seniors! I believe that movement and a positive mindset at that age and stage in life is especially important. I volunteer for Universal Metro Asian Services and offer free dance choreography for participating seniors that attend the Roselle, IL branch!
