Class Description: Students will receive in-person training by me, Rachel Shukla! By the end of the 8 week summer session my goal is to teach an introduction to adavus (footwork) and hasta mudras (hand gestures) to build up our ability to practice adavus and mudras in sync through introductory level dance choreography. Class structure will involve a mix of bharatanatyam related interactive stations, footwork, mudras, abhinayas, and more! I hope to empower participants to discover their own style, establish early motivation skills to practice and prepare at home, and gain confidence and will power required for a live stage performance! No prior dance experience necessary.
